Two Brothers. 9 Failed Products. One Golf Game That Changed Everything.

The story of how Juan Cruz & Juan Martín Castella went from selling lip balm kits to building the backyard golf game 24,000+ families now own.

We're Juan Cruz and Juan Martín Castella, two brothers from Mendoza, Argentina.

In 2018, right after college, we decided to become Amazon sellers. We figured it'd be easy.

It wasn’t.

Turns out you have to find a real opportunity in an enormous marketplace, pick a product niche you can actually compete in, and then, before you know if anyone even wants it, put real money on the line for a big first order.

Our first try? A home-made lip balm crafting kit.

And that was just the beginning.

2. Bamboo trays

3. Bamboo stash boxes

4. Carrying bags

5. Customized tumblers

6. Aluminum pipes

7. Customized blankets

8. Silicone straws

9. A human dog bed

Eventually we stopped chasing random opportunities and asked a different question:

What did we actually care about?

Golf

Both of us have loved it for years.

So instead of hunting for the next trending product, we built something around a passion instead.

We took the backyard game everyone already knows – cornhole. And we combined it with golf.

Par 1 was the game that finally worked. It's also the reason we haven't stopped.

One game. One obsession: getting people off their phones and into the backyard.
